Well, here I am on the first day of the fifth week of my new job already. Time really flies! It’s crazy to think that just 2 months ago I was totally unemployed and had no job lined up and was bumming so hard and now everything is back to normal once again. I’m very pleased.

Last week was an especially good one. First, I got my Monthy Combo Pass, which is totally paid for by the company and is available at the front desk a week before the end of the month. That means no more waiting in line to buy a T-Pass in Harvard Square as well as no more paying for the thing out of my own pocket. That’s good stuff!

Last week also ended on a great note because I go PAID! That’s right, cash money! They even managed to get the direct deposit setup so that it worked with my very first check . On Friday morning, I went online to check out my account balance (which was literally $0 the day before) and I suddenly had all this money! It’s still going to take a little while to get used to getting paid monthly, however. I mean, this check I got on Friday is what I need to use to pay my July rent, so that means I have to do some good planning in order for things to work out. Luckily, I’m super anal about that stuff and track everything in Quicken, so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Not the week was perfect, by any means. I managed to break a bunch of stuff on Tuesday which caused me to make Doc wait outside (to pick me up for TurnTables & Beer) while I was inside trying to help fix things. Luckily, it all worked out in the end and I came out of it learning something NOT TO DO in the future, which is a good thing, I suppose.

The point here is that things are going pretty well. I’m getting to know folks at the office and I’m learning a bunch of things. This has been a very good change for me.
